Terms of Service

Last updated August 6, 2026

These Terms govern your use of UrMula. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to all of the following. If you do not agree, do not use UrMula.

1. Educational purpose only — not advice

UrMula provides general educational information and self-help tools only. Nothing in the service is — or should be relied on as — financial, investment, legal, tax, accounting, credit-repair, credit-counseling, debt-relief, insurance, or mortgage advice, or professional advice of any other kind. Nothing in the service is tailored to your individual circumstances in the way licensed professional advice would be.

No professional relationship. Your use of UrMula does not create any fiduciary, advisory, attorney-client, accountant-client, broker, agency, or other professional or confidential relationship between you and UrMula or its operators.

No recommendations; you decide. UrMula does not recommend, endorse, rank as "best," or steer you toward or away from any strategy, product, lender, servicer, creditor, law firm, settlement company, counseling agency, insurer, or other provider. It accepts no referral fees, commissions, or lead-generation compensation from any of them. All decisions — and responsibility for their outcomes — are yours.

Estimates only. All projections, scores, routes, timelines, and simulations are estimates generated from the information you enter and from general assumptions. They are educational illustrations — not predictions, offers, promises, or guarantees — and they may be inaccurate or incomplete. Outputs are only as reliable as the numbers you provide. Consult a qualified, licensed professional (for example, a licensed attorney, CPA, Enrolled Agent, or other licensed advisor appropriate to the decision) before making any significant financial decision.

The Franklin AI assistant.

Franklin is an automated artificial-intelligence assistant — not a person, and not a licensed professional. Its responses are generated by a third-party AI model from the information available to it and from general assumptions. Like all AI systems, it can be wrong: its answers may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, or fabricated, and it can state incorrect information in a confident tone.

Franklin provides general educational information only. Nothing it says is financial, investment, legal, tax, accounting, credit-repair, credit-counseling, debt-relief, insurance, or mortgage advice, and your use of it does not create any professional, advisory, or fiduciary relationship. Do not rely on any response as a substitute for advice from a qualified, licensed professional, and independently verify anything important before acting on it.

To generate a response, the messages you send and the relevant figures from your account are processed by our AI provider (Anthropic) under its terms; they are not used to train its models. Please do not enter information in the chat that you would not want processed for this purpose, and never share your password or another person's private information.

Specifically, and without limitation:

UrMula is not a credit repair organization within the meaning of the federal Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA) or any similar state law. It does not offer or provide credit-repair services, does not dispute, remove, or promise to remove or improve any item on any credit report, and never charges any fee for credit repair.

UrMula is not a consumer reporting agency or credit bureau under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). It displays only the credit information you provide or authorize, and it never furnishes information to, reports to, or disputes information with any credit bureau.

UrMula is not a debt-relief, debt-settlement, debt-management, debt-adjusting, debt-pooling, or credit-counseling service under federal law (including the FTC's Telemarketing Sales Rule) or any state debt-adjusting statute. It does not negotiate, settle, restructure, or adjust debt; does not contact or communicate with creditors, collectors, lenders, or servicers on your behalf; does not collect, hold, or transmit funds for payment to any creditor; and does not enroll you in any plan or program.

UrMula is not a debt collector under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and does not collect, or attempt to collect, any debt from anyone.

UrMula is not a mortgage lender, mortgage broker, loan originator, or loan arranger under the Truth in Lending Act, RESPA, the SAFE Act, or any similar law. It does not originate, arrange, offer, or broker loans or any other extension of credit, does not take or forward loan applications, and does not accept referral fees, commissions, lead-generation payments, or any other compensation in connection with any financial product — from anyone.

UrMula is not an investment adviser, broker-dealer, or securities professional, and it is not registered with the SEC, FINRA, or any state securities regulator. It addresses personal cash-flow, savings, credit, and debt education only; it does not provide investment advice, manage assets, or recommend any security, investment, or investment strategy.

UrMula is not a law firm, accounting firm, tax return preparer, or tax advisor. It does not provide legal, accounting, or tax services, does not prepare tax returns, and does not represent anyone before the IRS, any court, or any government agency.

UrMula does not determine anyone's eligibility for — and cannot grant, deny, expedite, or guarantee the outcome of — any loan, credit product, repayment or forgiveness program, settlement, insurance product, government or charity program, or legal status or proceeding. Every such decision belongs exclusively to the relevant lender, servicer, creditor, agency, court, counselor, or provider.

UrMula is not a bank, credit union, money transmitter, or other depository or money-services institution. It does not hold, store, move, or transmit your funds, and it does not open, service, or access any deposit, payment, or brokerage account on your behalf. Any bank connection you choose to authorize is read-only — used to display your own information back to you — and UrMula never moves money.

2. You are the driver

Every decision you make using UrMula is your own. Our defining principle is that approval does not equal improvement: qualifying for a loan, card, refinance, or settlement does not mean it benefits you. You are solely responsible for your choices and their outcomes.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use UrMula. By using the service you represent that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is accurate and your own.

4. No guarantees; laws vary and change

We do not guarantee any financial result, savings, score change, approval, eligibility, program acceptance, goal achievement, or other outcome. Your results depend on factors outside our control, including the accuracy of your inputs, decisions made by third parties (lenders, servicers, creditors, agencies, courts, and providers), and your own actions and circumstances.

Laws, regulations, program rules, interest rates, and market conditions vary by state and jurisdiction and change over time. Information in the service is general in nature and may not reflect current law, the rules that apply where you live, or your individual situation.

5. Accounts, security, and accurate information

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it current. Estimates produced by UrMula are only as good as the data you enter.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service: no reverse-engineering, scraping, automated access, attempts to break security or access other users' data, uploading malware, or using the service to violate any law or any third party's rights.

7. Subscriptions, billing, and advertising

UrMula offers a free, ad-supported tier and a paid Premium tier without ads. Paid subscriptions are billed through our payment processor (Stripe) and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel any time; access continues through the end of the paid period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. The free tier may display ads; today those ads are UrMula's own in-app promotions, and if we introduce third-party advertising we will update our Privacy Policy first.

8. Third-party services and products

UrMula relies on third-party providers (hosting, database, email, payment, AI, and bank connections) and may reference third-party financial products or link to third-party sites. We are not responsible for third-party content, products, decisions, or practices, and your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

Optional bank connections and uploads. If you link an account through our banking partner Plaid, that connection is read-only and used only to display your own information back to you; you authorize it, you may disconnect it at any time, and it is subject to Plaid's own terms and privacy policy. If you upload a statement or document, you authorize us to process it (including through our AI provider) to extract the figures for your review, and you confirm you have the right to share it. These features are optional, you use them at your own risk, and you are responsible for reviewing and confirming the information they produce before it is saved.

9. Intellectual property

UrMula and its content, design, and software are owned by us and protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the service for your own financial navigation. Your data remains yours.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY INFORMATION IS ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, URMULA AND ITS OPERATORS, OWNERS, AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, SAVINGS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PRIOR 12 MONTHS OR USD $50.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless UrMula and its operators from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Arbitration and class-action waiver

To the extent permitted by law, any dispute arising from these Terms or the service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, and you and UrMula waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by contacting us.

Preservation of your rights. Nothing in this section waives, limits, or requires you to give up any right or remedy that the law says cannot be waived. In particular, this section does not waive any right or protection under the federal Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA) or any similar state law; you keep all such statutory rights, including any right to statutory damages and to recover attorneys' fees, and the arbitrator may award any remedy that a court could award on the same claim. Nothing here prevents you from bringing an individual claim in small-claims court, or from reporting conduct to, or seeking relief from, any government agency or regulator.

14. Changes, termination, governing law, and venue

We may modify these Terms or the service at any time; material changes will be posted and your continued use constitutes acceptance. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the service, are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

Subject to the arbitration and class-action-waiver provision above, any dispute that is not resolved by arbitration will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania (Allentown), and you and UrMula consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
